Summer Shakespeare
Much Ado About Nothing
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Carolyne Salt

HELD OVER!

Jun 30-Jul 23, 2017

If you caught last year’s Twelfth Night and thought things couldn’t get more ridiculous, you couldn’t be more wrong! Mistaken identities, naughty bits and a masquerade ball– along with more serious meditations on honor, shame and politics– hey, what’s not to love?

Welcome to Messina, home to Leonato and Antonia, daughter Hero, cousin Beatrice and a host of servants. When Prince Don Pedro’s army returns from the war, they welcome him and his entire entourage– including his diabolical sister, Don Jean, golden-boy Claudio and Beatrice’s old flame, Benedick– for a wild celebration. Claudio and Hero hit it off, and their wedding seems imminent. But things go wildly awry when Don Jean frames Hero as a “loose woman,” and everybody conspires to set up the ever-bickering pair of Benedick and Beatrice. Can love prevail?

The ART makes Shakespeare accessible to all, in every sense. Not only do our cast and crew diligently analyze Shakespeare’s text to understand every word, but they have a LOT of fun doing it, and you’ll have just as much fun when you join us! Stick around for a postmission (after-show) glass of champagne, and meet our merry cast and crew!
