2019 | 07 Summer Shakes: Macbeth

The Tragedy of
Macbeth

By William Shakespeare

Directed by Carolyne Salt

July 19 – August 11, 2019

Exploring themes of prophesy, ambition, crime, and betrayal, with a healthy dose of sex and the supernatural, the eerie play, Macbeth, is considered cursed, and its name reviled in theaters. Under Director Carolyne Salt’s deft hand, expect brilliantly entertaining cool chills on a hot summer’s night, and thought-provoking Shakespeare of a caliber rarely seen in even much larger cities, certain to excite neophytes and scholars alike.

Macbeth arrives Friday, July 19, and runs through August 11; showtimes are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, Sundays at 2:00 pm, at the Acrosstown Repertory Theater (619 South Main Street, Gainesville, FL, 32601, in the historic Baird Center across from Heartwood Soundstage and next door to Akira Wood). There is a $5 “sneak preview” performance on Thursday, July 18. Tickets available at the door only.
