March 18 – April 3, 2022
The Full Monty
Book by Terrence McNally
Music and Lyrics by David Yazbek
Directed by Jackie Collins
A raucous, pop-rock-musical send-up of gender expectations and stereotypes… that takes it all off. Based on the cult hit film of the same name, The Full Monty, a ten-time Tony Award nominee, is filled with honest affection, engaging melodies, and the most highly anticipated closing number of any show!
Six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers, low on both cash and prospects, decide to present a strip act at a local club after seeing their wives’ enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales. As they prepare for the show, working through their fears, self-consciousness, and anxieties– and a trip to the police station– they overcome their inner demons, find strength in their camaraderie and put it all out there!
The Full Monty arrives Friday, March 18, and runs until Sunday, April 3; showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM, and Sundays at 2:00 PM, at the Acrosstown Repertory Theater (619 South Main Street, Gainesville, FL, 32601, in the historic Baird Center at South Main Station, across from Heartwood Soundstage and next door to Akira Wood).
There is a $5 “sneak preview” performance on Thursday, March 17 at 8:00 PM. Tickets available at the door.
Tickets are $25 for the general public with a $5 discount for seniors (55+), students, teachers, first responders, veterans and active military, and may be purchased below. A limited number of tickets may also be available at the door thirty minutes before showtime.
