I Love You Because on November 24 & 25, 2019

A musical retelling of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, set in modern-day New York City. He’s a greeting card writer jilted by another, she’s a flighty photographer, and they are all wrong for each other. This feel-good romantic comedy celebrates an unlikely love that flourishes because of differences, not in spite of them.

Auditions will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday & Monday, November 24 & 25, 2019, at the theater– 619 South Main Street in the Baird Hardware complex, next door to Akira Wood and across from Heartwood Soundstage.

Please prepare 16 bars of a musical number and bring sheet music.

Performance dates are Fridays through Sundays, January 17 – February 2, 2020

Available Roles:

AUSTIN BENNET (tenor to A): greeting card writer.

JEFF BENNET (baritone to G): pedi-cab driver.

MARCY FITZWILLIAMS (soprano, strong mix to F, belt to D): photographer.

DIANA BINGLEY (alto to D): actuary.

WOMAN – Plays multiple roles (soprano)

MAN – Plays multiple roles (bari-tenor)

Ages and genders are flexible, at the discretion of the director. All races, colors, sizes, genders, gender-identities and experience levels welcome! Although this IS an audition, we’re not judgmental, and we hope you feel welcome here and have a great time. If cast you will be compensated by the roar of applause and the joy of being part of the Acrosstown family.
