Don’t be shy, you were born to be a star! Join us at open auditions for Shakespeare’s hilarious comedy Much Ado About Nothing at the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre!

If you caught last year’s Twelfth Night and thought things couldn’t get more ridiculous, you couldn’t be more wrong! Mistaken identities, naughty bits and a masquerade ball– along with more serious meditations on honor, shame and politics– hey, what’s not to love? The ART makes Shakespeare accessible to all, in every sense.

Here are just a few quips to whet your appetite:

MESSENGER: I can see he’s not in your good books.
BEATRICE: No, and if he were I would burn my study.

BENEDICK: ‘Against my will I am sent to bid you come into dinner.’ There’s a double meaning in that…

DOGBERRY: You are thought here to be the most senseless and fit man for the constable of the watch; therefore bear you the lantern.

Auditions will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday & Monday, April 9 & 10at the theater– 619 South Main Street in the Baird Hardware complex, next door to Akira Wood and across from Heartwood Soundstage. You don’t have to be present both nights, but it doesn’t hurt. No prepared monologues required– expect cold readings from a provided script; dress comfortably and be prepared to move. Performance dates are Thursdays through Sundays, June 30 – July 15, 2017 (with a possible holdover through July 23).

All races, colors, sizes, genders, gender-identies and experience levels welcome! If cast you will be compensated by the roar of applause and the joy of being part of the Acrosstown family.

We look forward to seeing you at auditions for Much Ado About Nothing!
